🧾 Terms of Service – Povey Painting & Decorating

Welcome to Povey Painting & Decorating. These Terms of Service set out how we provide our painting and decorating services across Oxfordshire.
By accepting a quote, booking work, or using our services, you agree to these terms.

1. Quotes and Estimates

• All quotes and estimates are provided free of charge and are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.

• Quotes are based on the information provided at the time of inspection or discussion.

• If additional work, repairs, or materials are needed that were not included in the original quote, a revised estimate will be provided before any extra work begins.

• Acceptance of a quote constitutes an agreement to these Terms of Service.

2. Payments

• Payment terms will be clearly stated on your quote or invoice.

• A deposit may be required to secure your booking or cover initial material costs.

• The balance is due upon completion of the work unless otherwise agreed in writing.

• Payments can be made by bank transfer or any other method agreed with Povey Painting & Decorating.

• Late payments may incur additional charges to cover administrative costs.

3. Customer Responsibilities

• The customer must ensure the work area is clear and accessible before work begins, unless agreed otherwise.

• Valuable or fragile items should be removed from the work area for safety.

• The customer should ensure adequate access to electricity and water where required.

• If unforeseen issues (such as damp, rot, or structural problems) are discovered, work may be paused until these are resolved.

4. Our Responsibilities

• Povey Painting & Decorating agrees to carry out all work professionally, safely, and to a high standard.

• We are fully insured and comply with all relevant health and safety regulations.

• All materials used will be of good quality and fit for purpose, unless the customer provides specific brands or products.

• We will take reasonable care to protect property, furnishings, and surfaces during the job.

5. Cancellations and Rescheduling

• If you need to cancel or postpone your booking, please give at least 7 days’ notice.

• Deposits may be retained for late cancellations (less than 7 days) to cover lost time or costs.

• Povey Painting & Decorating reserves the right to reschedule work due to illness, severe weather, or other unforeseen circumstances, with as much notice as possible.

6. Workmanship Guarantee

• We take pride in our work and aim for complete customer satisfaction.

• Any defects in workmanship reported within 12 months of completion will be reviewed and, if due to our work, corrected free of charge.

• This guarantee does not cover normal wear and tear, damage caused by others, or issues arising from external factors such as damp, leaks, or structural movement.

7. Photos and Portfolio Use

• With your consent, we may take before-and-after photos of our work for our professional portfolio, website, or social media.

• We will never share identifiable customer information or locations without permission.

8. Limitation of Liability

While every effort is made to provide a high-quality, professional service, Povey Painting & Decorating shall not be held liable for:

• Minor variations in colour or finish due to lighting or product batches

• Delays caused by events beyond our control

• Indirect or consequential losses arising from the work

Our total liability shall not exceed the total amount paid for the services provided.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with UK law. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
